UMass debates massive academic reorganization

Over the past two months, the University of Massachusetts has begun the massive undertaking of planning a major reorganization of schools and departments on campus. The chancellor also appointed a Reorganization Task Force led by professor Jane Fountain, which aimed to give the faculty’s feedback to the administration.

UPDATE | Nine possible swine flu cases hit Amherst College, one probable case at Smith

Two probable cases of swine flu at Amherst College were identified by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH), and as of Sunday evening, an additional seven Amherst students and one Smith College student have tested positive for Type A influenza, or the common flu. The 10 students are exhibiting mild flu-like symptoms which may be H1N1, commonly known as swine flu.
